The proposal of Charité Medical University of Berlin will primarily investigate empathy and the ability to regulate emotions in pedophilic men. Cognitive and affective empathy as well as specific empathy for children are in the specific focus. Additionally, the role of empathy deficits for sexual self-regulation and commission of sexual assault will be considered.
